Global Product Launch — Headset Refresh
Corsair Void Wireless v2
Real players, real reactions — not just another product render.
The Challenge
Most competitors in the category default to product renders to introduce a product; this launched with real gameplay instead. I led the creative on CORSAIR's first major refresh of its flagship headset, Void Wireless v2 — the first update since its 2016 launch.
My Role
Art direction, shot list and storyboard
On-set direction, photo-video oversight
Photo-video editing direction, copy direction
Scope
Global launch — two colorways. Content breakdown and copy direction, video, web banners, PDP, and retail gallery images.
The direction: an authentic environment — a dark gaming setup with RGB lighting that lets the product live inside the scene. The lighting had to be clear enough to build atmosphere without flooding the product in RGB color.
A challenge from the product marketing manager was to have talent smile on camera — which could easily read as posed or stiff. However, the talent on set weren't actors, so instead of asking them to perform, we had them actually play. Photographer and director, Espinoza created a genuine atmosphere where talent could enjoy the game, the shoot, and the environment overall. This kept their eyes locked in and focused on the game; their expressions stopped being performed and started being real.
