Global Product Launch — Reaching a New Audience
SCUF Valor Pro
Not a spec sheet — a reason to pick it up.
The Challenge
The Valor Pro Xbox Controller, SCUF's lowest-priced controller with a new ergonomic shape and onboard audio controls, opened the door to an audience who may not have considered SCUF before. Working closely with the creative director, product marketing manager, and copywriter, we shifted the product education from features to product benefits: a feature means nothing to someone who's never used a controller like this, but a benefit tells them when and how it helps them.
My Role
Art direction, shot list and content breakdown across retail, copy direction
Photo-video production oversight, on-set direction
Graphic design — GTM retail assets and translations across 8 languages
Scope
Global launch — wired and wireless. Content breakdown and copy direction, video, partnership assets, email, paid media, web banners, PDP, and retail [gallery and Amazon A+].
Results
Valor Pro Wired +52% 30-day sales forecast lift, +200% Amazon forecast lift, #1 new release of Xbox controllers on Amazon
As Senior Art Director, I oversaw the creative content and visual breakdown across photography, design, and the e-commerce retail experience. My approach was to combine lifestyle photography — carrying the emotional tie to the benefit — with product renderings that gave the product the shape and contour clarity the lifestyle shots couldn't.
