SCUF Valor Pro Wired
SCUF's Valor Pro Wired Xbox Controller, SCUF's lowest price point and new ergonomic shape, opened the door to a completely new audience that might not have known the brand beforehand. In close collaboration with the Creative Director, the Product Marketing Manager, and copywriter, we focused on educating new potential consumers via product benefits vs product features. Product benefits give the consumer an example of how they can benefit and when. A product feature, on the other hand, doesn't explain the usage to a new audience that has never used a controller like this.
As Senior Art Director, I oversaw the creative content and visual breakdown of photography, design, and e-commerce retail experience. My approach was to combine both lifestyle photography and product renderings. Lifestyle photography connected directly to the emotional tie of the product benefit, while the product renderings gave the consumer insight on the actual shape and contour of the product.
The launch was successful with a 52% increase in the 30-day forecast and a +200% for the Amazon forecast — making it the #1 new release on Amazon for Xbox controllers.
